The PPA Independent Publisher Conference, taking place next week (Tuesday 28th November 2017), is one of the PPA’s flagship events, a forum for delegates to focus on the specific challenges of the independent publishing sector, with hot topics such as the changing media landscape, new business models and the upcoming GDPR legislation featuring in the conference program.
The on-going challenges of multi-platform publishing are still a key concern for many independent publishers. Publisher apps generally haven’t been done well in the past yet are becoming more relevant as smaller publishers realise it is possible to deliver a great user experience affordably to their readers. Independent publishers are known for their agility and there is evidence of renewed energy in the sector, such as the successful EL Gazette app built by Rhapsody, which has significantly improved reader engagement and ROI compared to their previous PDF based app.
Rhapsody’s, Digital Commercial Director, Christian Price will chair a Roundtable debate on these issues entitled Mobile Publishing: Should publishers ignore the sceptics and trust apps again? Attendees are encouraged to join the Roundtable debate and share their views and experiences on the following topics:
- Apps vs responsive websites, do you need both?
- How can you monetise mobile?
- What is the best workflow from print to digital?
- How can you use mobile to grow engagement?
The Rhapsody team will be at the IPN Conference with sister company the Wyndeham Group, to showcase the suite of integrated print, media, creative and data solutions specifically tailored for independent publishers. As a PPA Strategic Sponsor, Rhapsody and Wyndeham will also sponsor the prestigious Media Brand of the Year category, to be presented to the winning consumer or professional publisher at the awards ceremony following the conference.
